Steel Frames

Stainless Steel
The stainless steel alloy contains chromium, so it’s not prone to rusting. With the standard zinc coating Z275 the local areas with exposed edges of steel are protected by sacrificial loss of the zinc coating and require no further attention.
Rolled Steel
Isn’t affected by rot in any way. If the humidity is below 86%, harming bacteria can’t grow, but can stay passive at 76%. Steel wouldn’t be affected by any of this.
Can’t be infested
It’s impossible for steel to get infested. But for timber, insects need about 20% moisture to thrive in wood. In recent years, the UK has experienced an average humidity of over 70%. Steel wouldn’t be affected by any of these conditions.
Heavy Duty
Our structures are mounted on heavy duty chassis, the internal rigidity is not too dissimilar than one of our modular houses as we adopt very similar construction processes.
Strong Durability
Ideally suited for the humid UK climate. Unlike the traditional timber frame used by other manufacturers, light grade steel doesn’t deteriorate over time nor does the structure shrink or creak. The steel we use at Mockba Modular is manufactured with a hot dip galvanised coating Z275 to ensure the durability of the frame for internal applications not directly exposed to moisture.
Sustainable Steel
Compared to timber, steel is fully recyclable, making it one of the most sustainable materials out there. As just 7% of Britain’s native woodlands are currently in a good ecological condition, sourcing materials which are fully recyclable is conducive to improving timbers sustainability.
